 Poetry by Clemens Rettich
Business Coach, Writer, Workshop Leader
In the hot sun
Glued to the rocks
Grim and razor sharp
Dune grass and roses
Woven and rooted
Deep in the sand
Bending but rising
From any wind
Gulls on the shore
Heads tucked back
Waiting for the storm
Looking like
They will wait for . . . → Read More: It is in our blood

I thank my son for many things but one in particular - introducing me to writing a blog , gives me a way to talk about my art without forcing anybody to listen ( everyone knows where the turn off button is).
Here is a side of the man not too many know: Poetry

I follow you out into open water
Hovering between blue and green
Never looking up; never looking back
Deep into the abyss under endless surges
You erode me and rebuild me
Washing over me in swells and fingers
You speak to . . . → Read More: Water Ways

Sandra asked me the other day to write a few things down about the Island where I lived for the first 16 years of my life, so of course the memories just came in – in mounts, it drove me to do a little painting as well, so here is a little abstraction of the . . . → Read More: A SQUALL

Close to shore
Das Meer (the Sea) is pulling and tugging until the ebb tide is fulfilled
Sand is refusing to follow and holds tight to the shore
But a few grains will always resist the temptation to stay put and flow away with the pull, only to end up as a . . . → Read More: Close to Shore

Low Tide 99
The memory always brings me back to my homeland – the Island of Sylt – if one grows up by the sea – that picture of water, seagulls and sand will never leave you alone and more often than not – paints the picture a little brighter than it . . . → Read More: Low Tide

Sounds of wind and sky 05
A walk along the edge of the water – some arias of the water surface give the impression of ice – right next to it – feeling of bottomless deepness - reflections from the sky puts an interesting pattern and colors onto the blue mass

Meet the Painter Welcome to my blog. This is written for you my readers and you who collect my paintings.
Because you are interested in my work you naturally want to know more about the creator - me - and that is why I started to write a bit about myself and the person behind the art work.
I have my studio in Abbotsford B.C. Canada but grew up on the small Island of Sylt in the German Noth Sea, the beginning of my fascination with water and the sky.
Please, feel free to email if you have any questions or comments!
