Do you see clouds in white or dark only? I don’t, I imagine all kinds of colors in wind and weather or sun and friendly skies, just like a child sees castles in the sky – why not see colors in the sky.
A friendly color, wet color, stormy color, dreamy soft, wild . . . → Read More: Colored Clouds

Dreaming of summer and the colors to come.
January is a good time to dream of a flower garden. Catalogues galore flying through the front door into my house, so to speak.
When we still lived in the Kootenays at the North end of the Lake, not the best region for flower gardens . . . → Read More: Gerald’s Garden

I am still working on my canvasses, stretching and putting the gesso on, sanding – 4 times – quite a few more to do, on my large table is no room for anything else, but I sneak in some small paintings, just so I keep the paintbrushes in use (my excuse), feels kind . . . → Read More: It is a small world

Monkshoods are late to bloom this year
All spring and early summer they were waiting for the sun
Shooting up to the sky – now they are 61/2’ and one is 8’ tall
But the blossoms are so beautiful and large
These are some of my favourite plants; they like to grow . . . → Read More: Summer’s End

Decay and re-growth
Mysterious and misty, windblown and rain-saturated, these are some words I would use to describe the rainforest on Haida-Gwaii
These islands are a wonder on the West Coast of British Columbia.
There is a constant life cycle going on in the rain forest, decay and re-growth

Meet the Painter Welcome to my blog. This is written for you my readers and you who collect my paintings.
Because you are interested in my work you naturally want to know more about the creator - me - and that is why I started to write a bit about myself and the person behind the art work.
I have my studio in Abbotsford B.C. Canada but grew up on the small Island of Sylt in the German Noth Sea, the beginning of my fascination with water and the sky.
Please, feel free to email if you have any questions or comments!
